Believe me, this next course will boggle your brain in the best way, give you a new appreciation for old school, expand your movement vocabulary and push your dancing to new heights. This intermediate-advanced level choreography is Rachael-does-old-school-inspired-fusion-bellydance. It will delve into the artistic influences that comes with that, featuring a wide range of beautiful vocabulary and combos with juicy hips and travelling galore. The piece itself really is next level crazy cool; one to whip out on stage and leave the audience speechless, whether done with cymbals or not. It's relentless, it's fast, and it's super FUN. This may be old school, but prepare for a fresh presentation and a whole bunch of new ideas for your dance toolbox and combos to use in your own routines!
Ready to go the whole hog? Join for the finger cymbals add-on and learn a wide range of cymbal patterns plus a couple fun special flourishes/tricks. You'll end up with a whole show-stopping finger cymbals choreo that goes way beyond just neverending *tek-a-tek* triplets! I'll provide full finger cymbals notation to work with along with choreo map to help you learn along the way. Dunno what that means? Come and see as it's a super useful bonus tool you can apply to future choreos too. All will be revealed!
PS: Don't be scared of annoying your neighbours playing cymbals at home! You can cover yours with teeny-tiny socks (sounds weird but it actually works) or mimic playing along with your middle finger and thumb for repeat drilling (still does the trick for memorisation). Or, you can do what I will do, and play much quieter wooden zills for repeat plays! I'll demo with my regular zills too so you can hear the patterns fully.

Rachael is a wonderful, inspirational teacher. I have only been attending her classes for a few months but I feel I have learnt so much already! Each class is well structured, with sufficient time spent on warm-up and conditioning exercises that help you to develop good and safe dance techniques. The choreographies that Rachael brings to class are beautiful and are great fun to learn. They offer challenge and introduce new techniques to work on, but each movement is broken down and drilled, with a lot of helpful hints, tips and guidance from Rachael that all help you to grow and develop as a dancer. Her meticulous approach combined with her fun, warm personality make her a great teacher. No matter what level you are at, as her student, you feel encouraged and empowered to explore and learn.
