ABOUT
Fusion bellydance is characterised by precise muscular isolations, strong posture, and embodied, body-positive presentation. Featuring organic spirals, circles, figure 8s, undulations and shimmies, its movements offer a wonderful way to not only tone and strengthen the body but also express inner artistry and individuality.
Classes begin with a warm up for healthy joints followed by conditioning to prepare and strengthen the body for the focus of the day, whether that be sharp and strong pops and locks or super slinky and slow serpentine phrases.
Different movements are fully broken down, explored and built upon each week to allow for progression and refinement of technique. Each class culminates in a perfectly formed slice of routine that over the weeks forms a short dance piece. We then finish together with a yoga cool down to calm and restore body and mind.
All and anyone welcome. Class progresses each week and past courses have sold out in advance so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place.
There are performance opportunities for regular attendees of the L2 and L3 classed (see below!), optional finger cymbal add ons for all classes, and we regularly go out for post-class drinks/food for those that want to join, offering the chance to get to know fellow dancers in the community.
Please note there are no refunds on classes/courses/workshops unless they are cancelled.
Any questions at all, please do give a shout.

Rachael is a wonderful, inspirational teacher. I have only been attending her classes for a few months but I feel I have learnt so much already! Each class is well structured, with sufficient time spent on warm-up and conditioning exercises that help you to develop good and safe dance techniques. The choreographies that Rachael brings to class are beautiful and are great fun to learn. They offer challenge and introduce new techniques to work on, but each movement is broken down and drilled, with a lot of helpful hints, tips and guidance from Rachael that all help you to grow and develop as a dancer. Her meticulous approach combined with her fun, warm personality make her a great teacher. No matter what level you are at, as her student, you feel encouraged and empowered to explore and learn.
