Actual real live Fusion Bellydance classes in London are FINALLY back before 2021 is over! Take your pick from Monday or Thursday. These all levels classes are suited for every dancer, with options given to challenge all and plenty of focus on reviewing precise technique after such a long break. Let's enjoy dancing together in person again!
Fusion bellydance is characterised by precise muscular isolations, strong posture, and embodied, body-positive presentation. Featuring organic spirals, circles, figure 8s, undulations and shimmies, its movements offer a wonderful way to not only tone and strengthen the body but also express inner artistry and individuality.
Classes cover posture and carriage, fundamental movements, isolations, turns, spins and travelling steps, alongside stylisation, presentation, and the correct muscular actions required of strong technique whether sharp pops and locks or ooey gooey undulations. Classes progress weekly in each block with the review and introduction of new movements.
With every class you will:
- strengthen and tone with conditioning
- learn and drill a variety of fusion bellydance movements and isolation patterns
- understand the aspects of strong fusion bellydance posture, technique, stylisation and presentation
- dance a beautiful short fusion bellydance choreography section
- restore body and mind with closing yoga sequence
All you need to bring along is a bottle of water and whatever you feel comfortable to move in. Dancing barefoot is the norm for this style but please feel free to bring soft ballet slippers/dance shoes if you prefer.
